I love this graphic from Austin Kleon's book Steal Like and Artist. We often get caught up in the excitement of a new idea and then find ourselves disillusioned, uncertain and full of doubt. That's okay - it's part of the creative process. Knowing that the ups and downs are part of the process can make it easier to keep the faith and persevere despite the doubts and fears. In the end, it's making something that fulfills us and keeps us happy and sane. Whether the the thing we make is successful or not is beside the point.
